Spiritual Sharing - Discipleship Part 3

Discipleship Part 3

We now move to The Words of Beloved Almighty Lord Jesus Christ on "Discipleship" in "The Gospel According To Luke"

Luke 6:19-38:

19.) "And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and he healed them all."

20.) "And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God."

21.) "Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled (satisfied). Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh."

22.) "Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake."

23.) "Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their father's unto the prophets."

24.) "But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation."

25.) "Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep."

26.) "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets."

27.) "But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,"

28.) "Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you (mistreat you)."

29.) "And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also."

30.) "Give to every man that asketh of thee, and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again."

31.) "And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."

32.) "For if ye love them which love you, what thank (blessing or grace) have ye? for sinners also love those that love them."

33.) "And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank (blessing or grace) have ye? for sinners also do even the same."

34.) "And if ye lend to them (only to them) of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again."

35.) "But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again (no personal gain); and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."

36.) "Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful."

37.) "Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive (forgive others), and ye shall be forgiven:"

38.) "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give unto your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal (use in measuring anything) it shall be measured to you again."

Luke 6:45-49:

45.) "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

46.) "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

47.) "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:"

48.) "He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently (heavily) upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock."

49.) "But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that was great."

Luke 9:20-26

20.) "He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God."

21.) "And he straitly charged them (strictly instructed) and commanded them to tell no man that thing;"

22.) "Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised up the third day."

23.) "And he said to them all, If any man come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

24.) "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it."

25.) "For what is a man advantaged (better off), if he gain the whole world and lose himself, or be cast away?"

26.) "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels."

Luke 12:29-32:

29.) "And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind."

30.) "For all these things do the nations of the wold seek after: and your Father knoweth (realizes) that ye have need of these things."

31.) "But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these tings shall be added unto you."

Luke 12:34-38:

34.) "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

35.) "Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;"

36.) "And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding (marriage feast); that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately."

37.) "Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily (truly) I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them."

Luke 14:26-27:

26.) "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."

27.) "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple."

Luke 14:33-35:

33.) "So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple."

34.) "Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour (taste), wherewith shall it be seasoned?"

35.) "It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill, but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

Luke 18:7-8: A Promise.

7.) "And shall not God avenge (protect) his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?"

8.) "I tell you that he will avenge them speedily (at once). Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"

Luke 18:15-17: A Requirement.

15.) "And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them."

16.) "But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."

17.) "Verily (Truly) I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein."

Luke 18:24-30: A Promise.

24.) "And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!"

25.) "For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."

Note:
In cities of old there were large gates that were open during the daylight hours for entering and leaving, but at night the large gates were closed to protect the cities. Those who desired to enter at night went through a smaller gate which was called "a needle". In order for camels to enter the smaller gate (needle) they first had to have the cargo they were carrying removed.

26.) "And they that (who) heard it said. Who then can be saved?"

27.) "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

28.) "Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee."

29.) "And he said unto them, Verily (Truly) I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,"

30.) "Who shall not receive manifold (many times) more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting."

This ends our study of "The Gospel According To Luke". As usual reading the whole Chapter from which the verses were taken will bring greater understanding.

Thank you for allowing me to share (give) that which I have freely received.
